Going on for a week now, my schedule has been filled with a recent personal project. Well, the week passed was also filled with moving to a new place and showing an art, comics and book show. Yes I have been busy!

So what am I working on? A lovely fully illustrated adventure book called Oeclair:

In trying to save her best friend, Shara is caught in the storm barrier of the outer edge of the open sea and is hurled to the unknown side.

She wakes up in an imperfect world, complete contrast of her warm and peaceful home. In a world where health is a luxury and most are just trying to survive the day; She becomes a hunted outcast by the zealous and oppressive ruling order, wanting to exploit her ability to wield Oeclair.

I’m currently raising funds online for the first print run of both the book and a full artist edition with original art and art file. Take a look at the project and here’s a video about the work.

In case you didn’t know, I love seeing other artists’ work process and recordings. So it would wrong of me not to share my own?

The featured are is ‘Spring is Coming‘ . I got my inspiration from spring finally coming to NY and I sketch I drew in the NY Subway. I’ve mostly been working in the behind scenes with freelance and some nice projects that I hope to launch Fall 2015.

Pattern work is something that I really enjoy and will pursue. But, I also hope to work on my comics and stories.

Here’s some photos of my senior show. I love the possibilities of what can be done with patterns and illustration. I just need to learn how to sew better.

I’m getting used to making patterns and the ‘quirks’ of what makes an appealing pattern. This will not be part of my senior collection but I do have another collection called Black, White n’ Youthful. Its a more class collection in the beloved BW color scheme.

Fresh Fruits is my submission to Printed Village‘s Freshly Picked scarf design competition. I wasn’t a finalist, but it was delicious to make.

Senior thesis and exams are really filling in my time. Just a few more weeks before graduation left and I’m already planning on some projects I’d like to get back to.

At the time of writing this, I’m prepping for Toracon, a small show at Sarasota School of Arts and Sciences.  I’m printing out revised price sheets and counting inventory.

Before this though, I’ve submitted for Surtex Designext last month. You can see a few designs of the crystal motif I decided not to use. Here’s hoping that I get a spot and get a great start to my career after school.

Next are some previews of another collection. The idea is the theme of geometrics but adding a human touch to them. Geoganics is a high end pattern since I envision them printed on satin or satin like materials with high definition for use in accessories like scarves and handbags or just a nice under blouse. I’ve submitted these for Make it in Design scholarship.

I’m working on a new commission for conceptual fashion costume design for a militaristic sci fi. I’ll post a few previews of those in the future.

Other things I’m planning on is a few concepts for mod cloth make the cut-prints charming pattern competition and a men’s pattern collection (this is more difficult then I thought).

In the middle of all this, I’m chugging at my senior thesis show. I only have two months to work on things and submit to design studios and private labels. Then I graduate in May and the last class is on April 28th.

Did I mention I have two part time jobs while going to class full time?

Later on I’ll look back and smile.
